Rowena Whey is the first Drag Queen to be pictured on a beer sold in the LCBO.
Queen of Wheat joins forces with activist and drag performer Rowena Whey and The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) to offer a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case to support CCGSD’s education efforts.
ABOUT
Hi I'm Rowena Whey, drag entertainer, activist, host, and drag show promoter across Ontario. You might know me as the Queen of Wheat, or Kingston's Muscle Barbie. Both are accurate. In 2021 I partnered with Spearhead to become the first Drag Queen ever to be pictured on a beer can in the LCBO!
I am also the co-host of popular Drag Podcast What's the Maple Tea, available on streaming platforms everywhere.
My events are known for their sass, camp, choreography, and unbridled sexuality. In whatever way I can, I will slay the stage. In the past I've been described as:
- "everything you'd expect from the obnoxious woman in the bar wearing leopard print, fishnets and stilettos".
- "strong, confident, fierce, shady, bootylicious... and needs to
calm the F**K down".
- "This is the Whey!"
